Ken and I met up on Saturday to run the Slick Rock trail backwards. Just as much fun in that direction as well. Those pics of that run are at http://lostkjnorcal.com/SlickRock06/SlickRock06.htm

We also connected with the Deer Creek trail which runs from Hwy 4 near Ebbets Pass to Hwy 88. We were curious about what the book called the rock garden at the start of the trail. Well, it wasn't a rock garden like we've seen but it was one rocky danged trail. We turned back down after a mile due to the lateness in the day, low fuel, and a bent tie rod.

This is a good KJ trail but definitely requiring it to be lifted and armored with lockers helpful in one spot. This spot (right at the trail head):

Most of this stretch looked like this. Careful line picking in a KJ but doable.

'bout this far yonder.

Take your CA map out, find Hwy 4 and 89. Trails are about 20 miles west of that intersection. Can do both in one day with an 9 am start.

Nice pix. I'll watch for it and see if the run comes up in a few weekends.
