Indian Springs

I went hiking up there today. The conditions are great. I found out that the area might be familiar to some people. It is signal peak and Pierce OHV trails. Indain Springs is just the staging area.

If you are coming from Sacramento, take the eagle lakes road exit, turn left and follow it around. In less than a mile, there will be a sign for Indian Springs OHV staging area. You turn down the road which turns to dirt. Soon after turning on the road you will see a toilet and a sign that says staging area.

In Mammoth 5/16 I drove up to snowbanks at 10000 feet, for the umpteenth time up my favorite Laurel Lakes trail (Wells, Nor Calif Backroads 4WD, #38 ).

I believe I'm driving up I-80 Friday afternoon. Looks like www.reserveamerica.com does not have Indian Sprs USFS cpgd. On Saturday are we running Signal Peak (Wells, #18 ) ? Sunday, I'll be down at Mather AFB to catch the USAF Thunderbirds. Ben

Signal Peak and Fordyce Creek are two trails near the Indian Spr staging area. I'll probably camp o/n Friday at Indian Spr USFS cpgd (unless gated closed pre-season). Will be there Sat 9am 6/09, staging area. Dunno about cell coverage but I have your number Matt.
