Hi guys,

I know this is zero notice, but I don't have to go to work tomorrow! Anyone free for Hollister Hills tomorrow morning? Just thinking about spending a few hours there for fun.

Since I am Ohio now, it would be hard for me to go...but (and this is the reason I am posting) back in high school (the 80's) I had a ATC (3 wheeler) and friends with trucks and we went to Hollister Hills all the time. Fun times and I miss that place. I lived in Hollister for my high school career and my parents still live there.

I figured it was a long shot.

ATV's just look sooo fun. Dirty but fun.

If anyone turns up, I'll be there in about an hour. Most likely the only KJ there.

It was a blast!

When I got there, two guys (Paul and Chris) in an FJ were right behind me and were nice enough to hold the gate open so I could get in (stupid thing swings shut).

Later I was messing around in this little gully (two wheels baby!) when I ran into the guys again. Ooops. And it has a 6" lift! It was a cool hole.

I still had the winch on so I got to pull them out. :D

We figured there's safety in numbers so we stuck together after that. There was a good hill with ruts and loose sand/dirt my KJ wouldn't make it up. They were awesome and let me drive the FJ up it. I also took like ten tries but couldn't get up the Hill Climb. Paul found the sweet spot and made it up to the top. Even in the passengers seat, it's a freaking sweet ride!

Then we played around in the mud hole. There's pictures of me on their camera.

So it was a great day, their enthusiasm was awesome and the FJ is an incredibly capable vehicle. It was a great time.

Looks like fun.
You should invite them to our next trail run.
It'd be cool to see an FJ in action.

EDIT: Hey how'd I end up posting in the NorCal section?
The ozone from the laser printer must be getting to me...

FJ's have beige floor mats?

Kwap, last Friday I wasn't doing anything that couldn't've been put off. This Sat 4/19, geocachers are running easy Iowa Hill/ Shirttail by Colfax, in search of a stock vehicle route for a geo-fest over Memorial wknd. Sat 4/26 I'm in Salt Lake getting a bumper that I almost had in time for Moab. 5/03 I'm geocaching Lake County and Cow Mtn OHVA.

Hey Bthomas, shirttail canyon is kinda fun if you've never been there before. It's a piece of cake even for stock vehicles, but there's some really cool scenery and bridges. It's a fun trip!

It's a jeep thing, my levels of perception are sufficient to ascertain your implication

I like that you don't believe in down time. Soooo, no more tweaked plastic on the rear bumper huh?

I've kept the left rear plastic dent from Cliffhanger 2007.

Here, on Poison Spider 2008 at the wedge.

I sprung for the Rockstar front bump, thinking I'd get it installed on the way to Moab 2008, but couldn't quite swing that install. Rear, not yet available, and I'm thinking the "Its the economy" thing. Hey KJ '06 just rolled 40K at 16 months.

That's normally where I get in trouble.
