If you are thinking of trying in the KJ, I would suggest Not doing it. Word of late is that sections of the trail are getting worse and w/ tightening restrictions on bypasses, etc. you have to pretty much stay in the middle of the trail in sections that are Tough on 33's. Anything less than a 33 means you will spend time high centered, stuck and blocking the trail. Of course that doesn't even figure in the damage you might incur. (bring spare axles, rear shafts and driveshaft and front diff!) A couple years ago we did have 2 KJ's on 245/265's get through from Tahoe down Cadillac to the Springs and back out again which I would rate as an 7/8 out of 10 where the rest of teh trail is a 10/10+. Running the whole trail would be super tough though on a KJ. |

Oh man I totally forgot about that. New to the NorCal club, so I don't know anyone in it really. Sorry fellas and gals. I bought a book on the trail so hopefully it helps answer the questions I have had. |

Reno, NV is the "Biggest Little City in the World". At least that is what this sign says. Never heard the saying I guess huh? The Rubicon is a short hour long drive from my house, and Fordyce is maybe hour and 1/2. Good trails if your rig is built up enough. ![]() ![]() I took this pic off of photobucket... so thanks to the dude that took it. ![]() |
