What are you doing for bumper?
I will be probably coming in Sat am- and figure out a place to meet. I think everyone else is coming in Thurs. or Fri, correct. Also I think Ken said there was no phone service there.

I am taking a bumper for a TJ and modifying slightly to fit my KJ.

My family and I will be there from Friday morn to Monday morn and I think others may be staying all weekend as well.

Yeah, we still need to figure out where we need to meet. If there is no service then we def need to figure it out on here. I think there is a general store near Lake Alpine, could gather there maybe.

I had my rear discoed on Strawberry and I think it helps a lot. Before I took it off I had no rub, but now I get a lot of rub in back even with 3" bumpstops. I couldn't tell the difference on road with it on or off, if feels and drives just the same. If you had yours off on Strawberry I am sure it would have helped. Would you have made it over without sliders, not sure, but all that rear articulation is great off road.

you are correct in your assumption, there is a general store in alpine which is only a short distance from the trailhead, we can meet there about 10 or so. sound ok with everyone? there is no phone service where we camp at spicer mdws however there is service up at bear valley and alpine.

Sounds good. From what mkjeepers said, it is fairly easy and quick.

The trail is moderate 4x4. It's 13 miles long - the first part is nice Sierra style 4x4 till you get to Bear Trap cabin - (take the little side road to the cabin). From there it is graded dirt back to the highway. The trail is well worth running. If you have C. Well's guide book he gives all the trail details. The most trouble I had was finding the trail head. It's off hwy 4 right on the Alpine County line west of Alpine Lake.

I posted in 2 other local forums that we were running Slick Rock.

So far another group has mentioned that they will be in the area but didn't say they'd be running it the same day or anything.

Hey Guys,

I'm in. I'll keep checking for more updates as we get closer to time, otherwise 10am at the lake alpine general store.

Hey Mike, I hope you get your bumper hooked up in time. I'd like to see what you come up with cause I've been itching to try the same thing.
