So are you guys running the Slickrock only? I've run it before and it's not that long - maybe 4 -5 miles. Most of it is easy 4x4 with about 2 obstacles. The last one after the stream crossing is the toughest, but there is a couple of lines through it.
There is also another trail right on the other side of the 4 by Alpine lake called Corral Hallow. It is a moderate 4x4 trail. It is in C. Well's guide book. It's worth running - very scenic. About a 2-3 hour drive. I ran both easily in a day.

We only have Slick Rock planned but we can give Corral Hallow a go too if everyone wants to.

The trailhead is a little hard to find, but it's right on the Alpine county line, when you see the sign. North side of the 4 before you get back to Alpine Lake.
Not sure we'll meet up but if we do I'll flag you down.

Yea, I've been wanting to do those trails for a few years now, so it looks good for the 30th.
Deer Valley looks the roughest, but it doesn't look extreme. Were going to leave Tahoe early and
try to make it to June Lakes for the night.

June Lake is where we were going to stay before this Slick Rock idea came up and I changed our families plans to fit my off roading needs.

We love it there though.

Ken said Deer Valley is a fairly tough go but the others aren't too crazy.

I'm taking my son and daughter, so kind of a family thing. We always have a blast. Got to do it before they move out and start their lives.
Are the trails up there crowded on holiday weekends. In Big Bear their a zoo.

I am sure you'll see some amount of traffic, but there are a lot of trails to choose from out here so hopefully there is enough to go around.
