A local Reno club, the Hills Angels, is joining Friends of Nevada Wilderness in a project to help save the Galena Rockcress up on Hunter Lake Trail. We are meeting are the Garson Firestation staging area @ 9 am. Just bring yourself, some gloves a lunch and water. If you can make it just let me know ASAP. Sorry it is such short notice.

This is where we are meeting

It is on the south side of 80 off the Boomtown exit. At the firestation you go to the gate, open it, go through, and close it(unless its already open).
Hope to see you there.

Anyone other Reno area locals going to join us? Richrail, 06 KJ Sport? There are a couple others too.

The trail is an easy one if anyone was wondering. Nothing like strawberry or slick rock.

Have you had any loud clunks yet? The first time you will think something broke!

It is awesome so far. The sound reminds me of driving over a tiny manhole cover or a small piece of gravel hitting the center cap and if I am listening to the radio I can't hear it at all. With the loud tires and muffler it is drowned out most of the way. Image

Well, thank you Neal for helping out today. It is always a good idea to store up a little good favor in the eyes of the forest service, even if it takes us moving boulders and logs around a tiny little weed that for some reason they feel needs saving.

Still, the trail was pretty fun and aren't you glad you didn't take D loop but stayed with us on the main?

It was a good trip. thought the "lake" was going to be a real lake :o Are we going back to water the "weeds" and the sage brush? I did water some rocks while there. The main trail was easier than I thought it would be.

Yeah, I doubt the work we did will provide those weeds any real safety, but at least us offroaders look good for helping out. I thought Hunter Lake was still a lake as well. I wonder if in the early spring there is more of a lake there and not just the pond/puddle. [/img]
