Well, I will be working on a list of runs for 2009 later today for sure. I'll try and get it posted by tonight. I am going to include a 2-3 day Tahoe area get together as well.

Sorry I've been busy as all get out and haven't worked on a list at all. Will try soon though.

I definitely want to run Niagara Rim, Pardoe, Deer Valley and maybe Rubicon... maybe

These are also really enticing:

Strawberry, Twin Peaks, Slick Rock, Coral Hollow

I have been wanting to do the Rubicon for some time now. I have done a lot of research on it and I am very interested if you decided to do it.

The Rubicon is friggin gnarly so if I decide to run it in my KJ I am prepared for body damage. Should be fun though. Hopefully next year all falls in line and these trail runs come together.

We tried for a rubicon run last year while lilmatty was still alive. Should be able to go back in the posts to see it.

The Rubicon trail is extremly rough, especially for a Lib. I'm a little aprehensive even with a built TJ.
Consider the Deer Valley trail as a starter. Then move up.

You took the words right out of my mouth. I want to run Deer Valley first and then hit the Rubicon if I feel the KJ is up to it.

Yea I wouldn't even bring the KJ out on the Rubicon Trail. I know its not up to snuff for that trail, but I would bring the TJ as long as I can trailer it so if anything happens I can get it home.

I thought I'd revive this thread for any more input from everyone.

This is my want to run list, but I am not absolutely dead set on any of these.
Strawberry http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/vie ... 4feb548ed4
Pardoe http://www.californiajeeper.com/pardoe/review.htm
Slick Rock http://www.californiajeeper.com/slickroc/review.htm
Deer Valley http://www.californiajeeper.com/deerval/review.htm

I really would like to do a big annual LOST NorCal run with everyone, whether it is a camping deal or just a day long event with food, friends and wheeling. I think it would be a great chance for everyone to meet up and get to know new and old LOST members alike. Whether it is a weekend or just a single trail ride it would be cool. Breakfast, lunch, dinner or all of the above along with at least one trail sounds like a lot of fun. We could meet for breakfast at a place near the trail, have lunch on the trail and then play at a lake for the rest of the day for dinner and a campfire or something. Of course that depends on what trail and how long it takes to run it and what not.

What does everyone think?

Last year I went up and did a small section of the rubicon, there was quite abit of snow left so I couldn't tell how difficult the trail was, but i have done fordice on atv and that is a really difficult trail, if it is anything like that you will have some fun. If I remember right, fordice has some bypasses on some of the really tough obstacles, we took some of those on ATVs. I think the rubicon has some bypasses as well.

Fordyce is supposed to be harder than the Rubicon, but shorter by a lot, both are gnarly.

Yeah it was sure tough, and the toughest trail I'd done, my back, legs and arms were sore for a couple days, atv's can give you a workout on those obsticles, we made it most the way on Fordyce but took us a few hours.

I'd love to give them both a run but I'm gonna wait until I finish my SFA to go for it.

The Rubicon dosen't really have alot of by-passes - mostly just different route choices around some obstacles.
At any rate you'll for sure get your money's worth.
BTW Mike, whats this SFA talk?? You going to build your KJ?

Yeah, gonna do a swap on the KJ. Bought the rear springs, front axle and a sway bar setup for it already, just need a few thousand more in parts and labor.

Do some serious talking to JJ. His is set up VERY good, and works VERY good.
I'm sure he has alot of good tips. On the tough trails I've done with him, I've been
very impressed with his KJ.
BTW who's the super-model in your picture?

I've been talking to Wally and JJ and OHV KJ about their setups. I just can't afford to go all out at once with that Nth Degree stuff. It will be a slow build up for sure but it'll get there and it will be fun to upgrade parts later too.

The pic is my wife and I'll pass on the compliment.

Can you put something together for June 19-21?

Would be cool to add it to the So-Cal calendar.
