Post subject:  NOV. 22 Fund Raiser Trail Run

A local group here in Reno has organized a trail run for 2 families in need. There is a $5 trail entry fee for each vehicle and 100% of the proceeds go directly to these families. The trail run is stock jeep friendly so any and all are welcome and can make this run. We have 33 rigs committed so far! We want to break the record of 48 rigs so we need more people. Come one come all and have some fun for a great cause. PM with any questions.

We are meeting at 9 am at the 7-11 on East Lake Blvd. Here: http://tinyurl.com/69ttao

Sorry Mike already told a friend that I would help him install his 5" lift kit on his Cherokee while his wife was out of town. I had already made plans before I herd about the run :( Would love to go and hang out I know a couple guys from Reno4x4 that are probably going

No problem 06.

So the total rig count was 43 IIRC. Not the record but still a whole mess of 4x4s. It was great to meet another local LOST member, jjfgt01, and his stock KJ did great out on the trail. Now he just needs to build the crap out of it. The trail was fairly mild but it was nice to get out and see some great views that I had never seen before. There was every kind of rig imaginable too. From a stretched FJ40 on 40+" tires to a bone stock Ranger, to a tricked out Jeepster Commando, to 2.4L Turbo TJ running 37s. It was a ton of fun with a great group of people and for a great cause. The trail run raised $526 too which brought our total amount raised to $2,836. Still have a trailer raffle, and some other things for auction too so that figure will go up as well. Here are some pics:

Some wild horses on the way home.

This used to be a gold extraction mine where they used cyanide to, uh... extract some gold. It was massive and really run down as you can see. It must have been quite a place when in working order.

Apparently Scott sucks.

And this was our final destination for a cold Henry Wienhard's root beer and a Buffalo Burger. Mmmmmmmm.

Great day.

Great job on the fundraiser! Looks like a great assortment of nice rigs and cool area to wheel even if easy.

 It did good though. There was that one hill/obstacle, but you made it unassisted so it worked out fine.

Side note what do you have planned for your KJ anyway? I have always really liked white KJs too.

I won't be doing anything until this spring. Don't have the money too and can't afford to have it down since I work in Carson. This spring I'm looking to put a lift on, tires, skid plates, bumpers (I got to looking when I got home and realized there is like no where to hook a strap to...). Might look into lockers. Alot depends on what kind of money I can come up with.

Sounds good. If it was me I'd go for it in this order:

1. Skids, all of them, Mopar if you don't have the cash for top of the line ones.
2. Front and rear recovery points, tow hooks
3. Lift
4. Tires
5. Depending on the wheeling you plan on - Lockers

There are a million little things you can do in between the big purchases to mod your KJ as well as long as you have time and money, both of which seem scarce now days.
