Recently moved to Livermore from Vegas, I miss the off roading around there, wouldn't mind maybe getting into some closer to home now... so maybe? If this group isn't completely dead? Also just getting ready to finally do a lift on my kj :-)

I'm a misplaced (LOST) Nor Californian. I used to make a trek back home with the KJ a couple times a year and loved to go out to Hollister Hills. I'm now in the middle of the pond for now. I'll make my way back to the Bay Area.

I'm in Gilroy. The only things kind of near here are Hollister Hills and some scenic trails around Big Sur.

I had to smile at this thread. I live in northern California, but to a lot of people, that's more SF Bay Area, which is nowhere near No. CA. Paradise... now that's No. CA. I live in Quincy, which is about 80 miles north of Paradise. It's also 80 miles NW of Reno, NV. Here in Plumas County, there are tons of off-road opportunities. Hundreds of miles of logging roads, both abandoned and in-use.

Just a couple weeks ago I got my KJ, the first 4WD I've owned in decades. I'm a little hesitant to take many treks into the rough because I'm on oxygen 24/7. But I'm also a photographer who loves getting the landscape photos that few others can get to. I'd be more adventurist if I knew I wasn't alone. So, if you're into it and decide to visit Feather River Country, let me know and we can plan a day ride.

Glad you like the photo that much. This is how I do it online: You Paypal me my cost of printing and shipping, to be determined by the size print you want (I use BayPhoto for all my printing), and you snail-mail me a Cashier's Check made out to Feather River Land Trust (a local charity and tax deductible), in an agreed upon amount usually determined by the print size AND your generosity. When I receive the check, I place the order and have BayPhoto ship you the print.

If you (or anyone else) would like to do that, please contact me via the contact form on my website at http://1footinthegrave.com/contact-me/

I've always been fascinated by hang gliding. If you ever come to my neck of the woods again, gimme a heads-up. Maybe I can try to capture a photo of you jumping off.

Thanks,

Jim
