Alrighty guys, we're going to try this again. We're proposing a run to Frank Raines OHV Park out by Patterson between San Jose and Highway 5. There's a $5 park fee to get in. This link from 4x4trailhunters.com was the best link I could find. If you know of a better one, please feel free to post it.

This run would be open for any person, of any skill level, in any vehicle. Anyone been there before and want to be trail leader? If not, we'll just explore around and see what we find. There will be no pressure to do anything you may not feel comfortable with, this run is about finding somwhere new to go and meeting some of you great folks in person. We will have hold-harmless forms for you to sign saying that you're there because you want to be and that you're responsible for your own vehicle. That doesn't mean that you're sink or swim on your own, we'll help out everyone as much as possible.

So...who's in?

Ink me in.

Hold harmless forms can be found at http://lostkjnorcal.com/Forms/Forms.htm if you want to look at it and sign in advance but I'll also bring some blanks.

Also, I'll bring LOST NorCal stickers. $7 each supports the web site and eventually other chapter activities.

You're commuting from Fresno to Bfield for a job? Or did you change schools?

No just moving to Bakersfield, already got the apartment and moving in next week! Still going to Fresno technically, but taking online classes to avoid the commute. I do know where to get the stickers and T-shirts too

All (two) of the OHV parks I've been two have had a training area so you can play around and get the feel for what your rig can do. I'm sure even stock you'll have some fun! Looking forward to meeting you.

Mmmm, Olive Garden breadsticks.....

Hey, it's the one open weekend when I'm not in Moab, Death Valley, Yosemite, Geo-Woodstock Dallas, or Great Basin geo-Rally in Nevada. Believe I'm a can do!!

Frank Raines Rocks. We had a great time. Very steep hills and rutted to boot. The Liberty pulled right up them with no problems. Just got to make sure you pick your line carefully due to the deep ruts. All the recent rain caused there to be alot of deep ruts. There were trails for all levels but no maps so some of the trails that started out good deteriorated to atv trails later on. That was ok when on the flat parts but not ok with a drop off on one side. There is a nice creek that you can actually drive in (not just through) and still a large mud puddle if you are ready to get dirty. I did see a Toyota 4runner get stuck in that puddle. He sunk in to the tops of his tires. I made thru with no prob. It did coat the engine though. Fun cleaning that up. It was fun exploring. There are 800 acre so it is too big for me to map out. My buddy that went whith me had a Dodge 1500 and would not follow up alot of the hills that I was climbing. I'll got a few pics that I'll try to post but this is my first time posting pics. Not many pics due to the fact that I was driving and it was not advisable to stop in the middle of a climb to take pics.

I know this is Dodge not a KJ but it shows the some of the deeper water. Sorry about the poor pic quality.

All in all a fun day.

Well the pics did not show. I'll have to work on that. I guess I'll have to do the car domain thing. Yahoo pics is too clever.

Anybody got directions? Which off ramp to take?

If coming in on I-5 take the Sperry rd./Patterson exit. Turn west (away from town) and take the first right. 16 miles on the right. Also Frank Raines Park is a nice place to eat lunch. Fire ring if you want to cook hotdogs or whatever.

Now let's try this again.

Just a little mud hole.

Should be ok stock as long as you have some skid plates. There are some rocks in some parts but you can avoid most of them if you would like to. I think the Reny comes stock with skids. Have Fun!
