Hi all,
It seems like we could be in the middle of a 100 year drought, but if we plan a run, it will rain. Thanks to everyone who came out for this. The weather wasn't too bad, mostly sprinkles with some light rain thrown in. The weather showed us a little courtesy and didn't really start to rain until we were done and airing up. Woo hoo for that!
At first it was just (left to right) MountainMike, CaKJFreedom, lilmatty and NorCalKJ. Then after getting some gas Dopefish joined up with us in his new black Renegade. So spanking new he doesn't even have plates yet!
The park gives you a black and white birds eye view photocopy as a map to help you navigate you through the unmakred trails. We kept finding the trails that turned into dirtbike trails, trails that went in circles, ones that lead you to a sticky looking mud hole or trails that were too slippery to safetly do in the rain, especially with Dopefish's stock tires (he gave us the easy out with theses, thanks!) None of us like cleaning mud so we opted to go to the creek.
NorCalKJ (Shawn) is our Mikey and in "let's get Mikey, he'll do anything" so these are all him in that creek.
The creek didn't really take you anywhere, it was a "let's see how far we can get then turn around" kind of creek. Shawn did get further than the 3 other vehicles we saw out in it.
Everyone did great, no need to strap or hi-lift anyone! No issues at all until we were done and coming out of our second trip to the creek. Even then it was only one valve stem getting too chummy with a rock. Dopefish, you wanted to get different tires and wheels anyway right?
Waaay easier than just replacing that one stem.
I was a camera wuss and didn't want mine to get sprinkled on too much so I didn't get many shots but I know Matt and Mike should have a couple to pop in here. So let's see what you've got! Again, great to see and meet everyone and we have to check out the posts for the Strawberry run and do it again!
