Hey folks. I have been running Rusty's lift for about 30k miles now and developed a horrible clunking noise in the driver side front. My neighbor, who is an excellent mechanic, helped me out and we busted down the front end to see what had happened.

It turns out, the lock nut on top of the coil-over shock had backed off and the dust cover was banging around. We slapped it on the spring compressor, tightenend the nut and slapped it all back together in no time.

We got to talking and realized that we could easily install these lift kits on KJ's at his work's shop on the weekends. So, if you need a lift installed he will help us (or practically do it all) for $150 an install. Considering that it really isn't easy to find a place that will do it and if you take it to somewhere to get it done, you are looking at much more than $150. It really isn't a bad deal. I had 4wheel parts do mine for about $250 (and only becasue they owed me for something else) and they neglected to torque everything to specs (which might be why that nut backed off in the first place).

So, if you are intersted, maybe we can have a lift party/ bbq one weekend day at his shop in Houston, TX.

Email me at cobrien@image-ces.com if you are interested.

Hey,

I'm from Monterrey, N.L. MEXICO and I've been looking around this wonderful forum and I've seen several times that famous Lift Parties with BBQ and its sounds just great !

In the next 5 months I'm planning to buy the Frankenlift with Al's UCA and I was wondering if you neighbors guys would accept me to sponsor a Lift Party with Mexican Cabrito (or Goat) over there (houston) ?

Because I'm not a very skilled person with mechanics maybe I'll need help from your friend you'd mentioned. I'm a good mechanic assistant and had made some several fixes(carbs, differentials, engine, electrical), but not sure with brakes and suspensions...hehe

I'm buying a Frankenlift soon and you are on! I'll make the trip to Houston to get the job done right!

If there's a gathering here in H-Town . . . I'll be glad to come help out . . .

Guys if you keep posting and get enough interest . . . I'm sure you'll find the fella's around here very helpful and willing as they were when I was drumming up interest for a Lift Party in Waco (some time ago now, with many lessons learned) . . . :-)

Sounds fun, pick a date and get folks signed up!

Brandon

That sounds like a deal to me. I'm hoping to get a spacer lift and new struts/shocks before too long. I have to recover from the tire purchase first.
