| Post subject: | Lift installer in Houston? |
Are there any group recommendations for lift installers in or near Houston (preferably NW Houston near Tomball)? I am thinking, just thinking, of getting either the Rusty's or the Frankenlift. I have a 2005 Renegade 4x4 and it seems like either lift should work for it. It seems like the Frankenlift might be easier to install since it apparently does not require a strut compressor. I am undecided whether to pay for installation or do it myself. |

Unless you're short on time, don't pay for it. If you aren't comfortable doing it by yourself, there are plenty of people that would be willing to help. |

The Frankenlift will be easy to install. I bought the OME HD lift, which uses the same springs and shocks/struts as Frankenlift. I ordered it from All-J with pre-assembled struts. KJTX and I put it in ourselves in about 3-4 hrs. I have access to a auto lift with air tools so the install was a snap. In my opinion the OME or the Frankenlift would be a better choice than the Rusty's. Alot of people have had trouble with Rusty's shocks not fitting properly. I would be more than happy to help you install the OME or he Frankenlift if you come to Waco area. I can't speak for KJTX, but I'd be willing to bet he would be glad to do another lift install. |

I'd be more than happy to help you install it. Unlike Edwin, I'd even be willing to come to you. (Just kidding Edwin |

I had mine installed and 4wheel parts on Gessner Rd near I-10, but I had an "inside track". Basically, they had made some mistakes and were trying to make it up to me so they did it fairly cheap. But now that they have done a Rusty's on a KJ, then they should be able to do yours as well. I am not sure how much they would want to charge though so it may not be worth it. Despite the reputation of 4wheel parts, this store has excellent customer service. I may have a lead on another shop as well. It is the shop that all of us Cruiser heads use.
