I've been talking to a buddy of Chris' (gringo loco) and he invited me down. I'm sure Chris will be on here at some point to post about it but thought I'd see if anyone was going. I think I'm going to try to head that way. I'd love to finally get to meet some guys around here.

Check it out:

Who you been talking to??? Katemcy kicks major butt, be prepared to take damage if you do not have full skids and sliders. I wont be able to make this run due to the fact that my son will be born about 1-2 wks before. Don't worry the Laredo CP will show you a good time even if I am not there. They have a band that travels to katemcy for the anniversary run and last year was a blast.

I got the info from Chivas on one of the 4x4 games I was hoping you'd be able to make it there I've wanted to take a look at your rig since I'vejoined here.

I kinda figured it was Waldo that was providing the info. I wish I could go but there is no way my wife will let me go  . Hopefully will make it to the season opener in late jan. 09.

Dang, didn't realize it was that hardcore out there. I've been planning on scrapping the majority of the skids together but I don't think I'll have a gas skid by then and definitely won't have rock rails on the rig. I may have to rethink this trip then. I'd like to be able to make it home as well!

what up jason??? the skids that took the most beating on my kj were the gas tank skid and the hitch saved my butt a few times. You will want some sliders like RL makes, if not they are not too bad to make yourself. There is stuff you can do out there, but you won't be following the group much. Also the granite likes to eat up metal, my skids are gouged up and I know jasons ARB lost a little too.

Not bad if you have the tools!

I can't weld and have nothing to cut the metal down and don't know anyone around here that could make them for me. I'll have them at some point I just don't know when that will be.

yeah, my gas tank skid took a serious beating even with my huge
hitch recovery point.

poke, i wouldnt recommend stepping tire into katemcy without full
skids and rock bars.

that place will tear up a trail rig like yours if your not very careful.
there wont be much following going on without protection.

From the posts the guys have put up, it seems like it was a great run. Beautiful weather for wheeling. We will have to make the next anniversary run when Mathieu is 1 yr old.
