My Army division reunion is this June at Ft. Hood. Any members close by to go play with? Actually, I'm not sure I'm going yet.

I should have remembered you were there! I do fish but won't be bringing any gear along. The 1st. Cav. reunion is what I'm thinking about attending. A bunch of old farts! If I do go it would be fun to do some riding.

Yep, we wear the Stetson, at least some of us do. The 1st. Cavalry Division also still has a mounted color guard! They have been in the Rose Bowl Parade and all the other big parades. The Cav was the very first air assault unit in the world. We invented it! It also was the first army division to do a division air assault. That was to...how do I phrase this without upsetting the marines....when the marines were pinned down at Khe Sahn (SP?) by the North Vietnamese Army the 1st. Cavalry Division (Airmobile) air assaulted the whole division around the marines and chased away the NVA. The Cav came out of Vietnam as the highest decorated unit of the way. I was in the 1st Bn 8th Cav. The 8th. Cavalry was: Airborne / Air Assault and Airmobile.

So much for history!
