family and i are at the laquinta on the highway just north of the exit for duval and burnet. have a golf tourney tomorrow and then going to hang out and hit the pick n pull in san antonio on the way home saturday.

austin is such a beautiful town. i had forgotten since i normally only stay on the highway and haven't lived here in 20 something years

North end of Mopac - the new Domain shopping center?

(unfortunately I'm working nights or I'd at least shop by and say Howdy)

I like the drive through 2222 toward 620 - although crowded these days.

and the Austin of 20 years ago is still there - they just keep builting more town around the outside of it

Camp Mabry - is National Guard - so lots of vehicle storage, admin offices, parade ground - but very few people.

Barton Springs - Zilker park is cool (actually the water's cold if you go swimming)

sorry, didn't get back on till we came home. we did go to zilker so the kids could swim. and they loved it. boy have they changed that place since i was kid playing there. we loved our weekend up there and my dad, brothers, and i placed 3 or 4 in the tourney. we didn't stick around to find out since we didn't win longest drive or closest to the pin. we were 5 under and first was 10 under and second was 9 under
