Where do you live? I'd drive 75 highway miles for a good meetup. I'm sure we'll have one downstate more in a month or so.

no offense, but i hate it when "chicagoins" refer to the entire state of illinois that's not suburbia around chicago as "downstate"

[/rant]

Something about my 4 yr old running around Hooters makes me not want to bring him.

when i said downstate, i meant it - like in Bloominton/Normal where BlackOps lives. I didn't mean like 10 miles out of the city

I'm in Saint John, IN. About 40 miles south of downtown Chicago.
It's not the distance as much as it is the brutal traffic. 5 mph on the interstate with a bunch of jackalopes. A trip to the dentist is preferrable.

I'm sure there will be another opportunity.

Looks like the weather will be good Sunday, 65 and mostly sunny. Any objections to moving this outdoors, say maybe a forest preserve or park somewhere? More kid friendly that way. I have a little gas grill we could use to cook hot dogs or something.

Its a bit farther south, but Busse woods in Schamburg might be an option.

Thoughts??

I'm cool with moving it outdoors. When I set it up to be at Hooters, I thought it would just be a bunch of us guys showing up.

Unless wer get everyone checking in here before sunday, we still have to meet at the Hooter's parking lot and then go elsewhere from there. I don't wanna leave anyone behind.

Lets try and head here: http://www.vhparkdistrict.org/facilitie ... rypark.htm

Which is only around a mile away from the Hooter's. If I get all 6 people checking in, then we can meet there. Othewise, as I said, we meet in Hooter's Parking lot.

I'll bring some beverages. Looks like FreeJeep has the dogs ( we may be able to use one of the grills on site, otherwise we can use yours, bring it in case). Would everone else mind bringing something and posting what it is here?

Any objections, speak up!!

Here is a google map of where the park is, get directions via this:

http://maps.google.com/maps?q=Lakeview+ ... oc=A&hl=en

I'll drive up there tonight and figure out exactly what parking lot we should use. I'll post back before 11 pm.

The Hooters we were gonna meet at is just west of this near milwaukee avenue and townline rd/rt. 60.

Those of us who had our hearts set on a beer can still go out for one after if you'd like.

If you head north on lakeview parkway, you will very quickly find a driveway right before a church - This lot leads to the small lake in the park and there is a picnic shelter along with a great view for pictures.

Should be very easy to find.

Ok so are we meeting at the park or Hooters. I think the park would be better so I can bring my family. I will bring a couple cases of pop and a cooler.

We just need to get everyone checking in here - otherwise someone needs to wait at Hooters for half an hour or so just in case. Maybe we can leave a note with the hostess there or something as well.

We may be able to come with the last minute change of plans. If we come, we will bring something sweet.
