So what time are we going to meet up and where at?

9 am in the Badlands inside lot sound good?

We'll be on CB channel 16. It would also be good for all the guys not meeting up at our normal spot outside Chicago (I-294 O'Hare Oasis) to PM me a cell phone number.

We have also started a tradition of hot dogs grilled on the trail for lunch, so if anyone wants to contribute chips, soda, etc. that'd help. We'll get that all ironed out the week before the event when I ask for a final yay or nay from everyone.

Sounds cool to me. What time does the park close or do we normally call it a day?

I like the trail lunch out on the grill. I am more than willing to help out with some soda and chips.

The park requires we be out at sundown. This is 6:25pm on Feb 18. We try to air up at the clubhouse but last time we go in late and had to air back up at the BP in town.

Count me in for the trail lunch.

Actually it's 5pm sharp - they want you out the gates, regardless of whether you are done airing up or not. We were told that in no certain terms last time by one of the employees. He said he'd rather be at home than earning overtime letting us air-up.

Has anyone gotten a hold of the two guys that tagged along with us in the CJ (I can't remember their club name but I have their sticker upstairs if I need to) and see if they wanted to come again? It's just a thought. I thought they enjoyed hanging out with us last time.

I have thier names - offroadadventureoutfitters.com. They actaully are trying to make trail-guiding a business, so I'll have to see if they have a paid gig that day or not.

I actaully did some decal work for them after our last run, so hopefully we're making friends.

I also invited Midwest XTerra Club. Looks like SteelX and BroncoX are maybes.

Well wouldn't you like a job of being a trail guide....it might get old after a while but your jeep and ALL it's little toys would be a tax write off. Do it for a year or two get the jeep built ( and writen off ) then switch back to a more normal job and keep the jeep for your days off.

I'm going to hold off on taking my own Liberty on the trail, especially this time of year when everything's wet and muddy. I have no faith in my 3-year-old Wranger ST off pavement. I plan to put on BFG All-Terrain T/A or Bridgestone REVO's by mid-summer and then hit the trails. In the meantime, I'd love to come out and shoot some video of Liberties getting down and dirty, as video production is a part-time job and passion of mine -- and partly to convince my wife that casual offroading isn't all that hazardous when done safely. Could any of you Indy-area folks could give me a ride out on 2/18? Send me an e-mail or private message so we can coordinate. Of course, I'll chip in for gas and lunch.

I'm not trying to hijack this thread, but I have an idea. I could easily put together a cool promo video for the Midwest chapter of L.O.S.T. Would be fun on the Web, but even better on DVD! We could make a real documentary if you wanted. A DVD would be a nice fundraiser item to cover expenses and member benefits. It might help to get an endorsement from Jeep/Daimler-Chrysler too. Just a thought.

T.J.

You are more than welcome to ride along in my Jeep during the trails. However, I'm going to be arriving friday night so I wouldn't be able to give you a ride out to the badlands.

If you drive out and meet us in Attica, you are more than welcome to ride along in anyone's passenger seat.

A professionally cut video would be awesome. I have some uncut footage from out last run - PM me if you would like me to send it to you so you can play with it.

What time does this shindig start at Badlands? I just remembered that 2/18 is my daughter's very first dance recital. I can't miss that.

The video offer still stands. Maybe next time.

New jobs and new houses will do that to a guy. No worries.

Alright since the date it coming close does anyone have any hotel recommendations. I'm going to have to stay Friday night since it is a 4 hour drive for me. Also is anyone else getting there the night before?

BTW pixeldzn, do you have any lost midwest decals left? If so can you bring one along.

We are now a week away! Getting excited!

Following is a list of confirmed attendees:
pixeldzn in the Rubicon
KJ-BOL
SunDvl
SunDvl's brother in law in an XJ
Bakerkj
mattnmette
Eddo
Science Guy

maybe:
rocketjockey
evane007

As for the trail lunch-

I will bring the dogs and buns.

Please post if I missed you, or if you have to back out for some reason. Also, please post what you're contributing to lunch so we don't have 10 bags of chips to try and wolf down

Chicago guys - shall we hit up our standard meeting spot (O'Hare Oasis) at 4:45 am yet again? Stupid Daylight Savings Time....

One last note - we will be on CB Channel 16 to start, and will change to an unused one after everyone is in a group.

Let's try to meet up in the Badlands inside lot by 9:20 am. That means that if you get there first, don't wait outside for more KJs. Buy your pass and get aired down to 15-20 PSI. I learned that from experience last time.

Looks like we should have a real good group.
