CARAVAN REROUTED - THESE PLANS ARE OLD - SCROLL DOWN THE PAGE

We will depart 5 AM from the Hinsdale Oasis on 294 for the Chicago guys. We have to start a little earlier since we lose that hour in Indiana.

Hinsdale will be better than our normal O'Hare starting point as the guys from Joliet and DeKalb will be able to make it there as well without backtracking.

We will also be making a gas stop at the Shell station in Kentland,IN on Rt. 41 for any northern indiana guys that want to meet there. We should be there around 8:15 AM Indiana time or so.

BTW, I will be in a Black Rubicon, not my KJ.

The politically correct term is fuel stop. I'm not easily offended, but some of the other CRD owners may be

5:00am at Hinsdale.. I'll be there. What CB channel will you be using?

OK Eddo, are we meeting at the McDonald's at 48&70 at 0545? 0600? meduncan, are you coming over on 70?

Yep, I'll be coming over on 70. Meeting up to caravan over sounds good. Is that McDonalds off exit 29? I can be there as early as 5:45 but I'd prefer 6:00 since I have about a 45 minute drive to get to that exit.

I'd say it is no problem - lincoln oasis is right before (or maybe right after?) the Quarry & right before 394 Exit----
Just remember to stay on the rightmost lanes while aproaching lincoln oasis - construction is still on and that changes the situation everytime...

Lets nix the oasis plan, and we will instead meet between 5:30 and 6:00 at the McDonalds at 394 and Steger Road in Crete, IL.

For those of you coming from the north, take I-294, to I-394 and you will find the McDonalds I am speaking of soon after you get onto 394.

Here is a map:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q ... 34146&om=1

This is where a lot of IL jeep clubs muster up to go to the badlands, so you may just meet some other jeepers there as well.

As KJ-BOL pointed out, pay close, CLOSE attention to the road signs in the construction zone on 294 right around the 394 exit. The alst time we went to the badlands, they had made getting to the exit really cryptic and we missed it.

I would like to leave there no later than 5:45. Those of you planning to meet there, please post your name on this list:

Just us heads up, it has been raining here in Indy for going on 12 hours now and forcast is for more today and tonight. Tomorrow is mostly sunny, windy, and cold (high 53). Sounds like great 4x4 conditions! We should have plenty of mud!

Just as a reminder.... MUD is trouble !!!
please do not run over mudholes too fast - this is for all KJs - they are known for not liking mud too much - if radiator fan gets muddy you will start overheating - Bring a good watergun !! :)Temps should be perfect - 53 is not cold... :)
cold was below zero when we ran earlier this year...

Good point... I did not go on the run. You guys must have been freezing. Does having the towing package help with the over heating? I have never had the trouble with over heating like some of you have had in the mub (knock on wood).
