Post subject:  Question about jparts.com shipping to Indiana

I just ordered my front tow hooks from jparts.com thinking I'd receive them with plenty of time to install them for the 8/26/06 Badlands run. As soon as I completed the online checkout process, I read that because Savage is on vacation this week orders placed between 8/14 and 8/18 won't ship until at least 8/21. How likely is it that I will still receive my tow hooks by 8/25/06? I'll be really pissed if I have to miss out on my first L.O.S.T. trip because of this.

What annoys me the most is how their "warning" doesn't get special treatment; in fact, it displays in my browser as normal type right beneath the eye-catching "Free Shipping on All Orders Over $75" banner. A message that important should stand out.

Anyway, I've e-mailed them asking for help (in a less hostile tone). They're only two states away, so I don't imagine shipping taking too long; on the other hand, I've learned to never expect much for free. Wish me luck!

The first time I ordered from them, it took a week before the order was even processed, then another to ship. Once it gets into the UPS system, it's here the next day.

My second order, I was told the guy only processes orders on Thursdays, so it, again, took two weeks (or more) to get my stuff. The story changes every time so I'm not too happy with them as of late.

I would say it's sketchy for you at best. Looks like he will get back Monday, the 21st and process the orders - which does not necessarily mean package and ship... My second order was ordered on a Monday morning, processed on the Friday morning of that week, then shipped NEXT Thrusday(probably night) and I did not get it until Saturday, so 2 full weeks when things are normal....

Whatever, I think I'm done using them...

I was afraid of that. No response from my e-mail yet either, so I guess no one's even there to answer that. I'm still a little hopeful because, well, how busy can the place be? It's not like they're Amazon.com or Wal Mart? A lot of people buy Jeep accessories and I bet about half only buy from dealerships. I'm just sayin'...

Just to be safe, I canceled my jparts order. I ordered the hooks from an Ohio dealership via eBay instead thinking that even if they don't process the order right away, I'm only one state over and should still receive the hooks in time to mount 'em up by Friday night.

Even when they are there, the only way I got both my orders shipped was to call them directly and bug them until I was too annoying to ignore.

I suspect they are getting overwhelmed by internet orders as it is run by the parts department guy as an after hours kind of thing (at least that is what one of the service managers there told me).
