I considered going, but I have such a busy week right now. You couldn't ask for better weather. Sunny and 75 degrees. Color me jealous. T.J. |

I had a great time at the Badlands. I left the goodyear mtr’s at home so I could test out my new bfg t/a ko street tires. I am totally impressed by them. They always had traction even on the steepest hills. They also performed well in the mud. I did have to take the strap to get out of one mud hole. If I had the mtr’s on I think I might have made it out on my own. The trails were awesome. The hills were dry and the mud was deep and sticky. We did alot of exploring. I tried to stay off the trails I had run previously. We spent a few hours lost in the woods along the west side of green. That’s where I popped a bead. I didn’t bring my hi-lift, so I had to dig a hole to get my tire off. The skids and boulderbars took a beating. This hill is about three stories high and shaped like a construction cone, Strait up and strait down. I didn’t want to go too fast and hit the tree that was just over the other side so I took it slower than I should have and high centered myself on the top. You can see the look of terror on my face. [/img]
Here I am wondering what to do now. Backing down was not an option due to a tree that looked like it wanted a piece of me. I had the front and rear wheel spinning in the Air. Somehow I was able to back down a few feet and step on the gas, which allowed me to get the front end far enough over that gravity and the sliders took over and I was on my way down again. That one had my adrenaline pumping!
Hear i am enjoying the flying insects. I brought the hi-lift base but not the jack. The scissor jack w/ the base worked, I just had to dig the wheel out a little
The spare is on and ready to roll (check out the flex)
Time for a snack. It's not easy to eat a carmel apple and run the trails at the same time.
Gotta do the tube and crank up the tunes.
Got Mud? I do! All the way upto the boulderbars.
and I almost made it out!
Now I have to clean off the mud in the pond.
Looking for Bogdan's summer house.
I found it but he wasn't home.
Took a final ride though the stream and headed to the gate. We were the only trucks there all day.
Gotta fill up before I head home $1.99/ gallon. You can see I am excited!
I got a few new beauty marks when I planted my front bumper straight into the ground. I didn't get a picture of that since we were trying to get to the gate before it closed. We made it out with 2 minutes to spare. |

Who was the other part of 'we' ? Remind me not to follow you too close on the trails so I have a few extra seconds to realize I won't make it through... Looks like some of that good smelling sewage mud |

It's the BP in Attica. They also have free Air. I think one of the badlands dudes shut off the air compressor on us, so we had to air up at the gas station. |

A couple of them guys aren't that friendly there!! The owner, Troy, is pretty cool but the other guys didn't seem like they liked life!! We went there this spring on an ATV riding trip w/ friends and my friend's parents had a lifted golf cart that they wanted to follow us around on. The guys there (staff) had to go over it a million times and tell us that it wasn't safe until finally Troy came out and said, go ahead and take it out, just be carefull and wear helmets. Not to mention some long haired freak always kept an eye on us... Other than a flag...do they require anything else for jeeps and vehicles? The only time I've been there I was on an ATV. |

You need tow hooks front and rear. |

You wrote: "you need tow hooks front & rear" Reply: I've been to the badlands with my stock Libby and they never said anything about this. I have a trailer hitch with whatever you call 'em (d-rings? c-rings?) that the tow vehicle has hooked a winch onto before. Best I can tell there are no front hooks on a stock Libby. Guess I need to confirm the requirements because I'm going to Attica this coming Saturday. Anyone else from the midwest going to be there??? |

the only reason i think that is because if someone is infront of you they can pull you out if you get stuck and we can keep going on the trail and not have you getting stuck multiple times on the same obsticle if it comes down to that. altho i do think it is a requirement of the park. |

LOST Midwest as a club requests it because it is a pain in the butt and dangerous to recover you if you get stuck when you are without hooks. Just ask our Vice President how much we complain becuase he has been lazy about getting his. |

That was really funny "i'll try not to get stuck" Okay, so those of you with the front hooks, where do you pick them up? Whitneys? Does this require drilling/bolting or welding or other something else? Thanks! |
