Post subject:  Ordered my Daystar lift from All J Products!
Great birthday presents! I placed my order with Quinn yesterday. I ordered the KJ09123 spacer lift (1.5" front and 2" rear). Nothing too extreme, as I'm trying to keep things simple and not change the ride too much for my wife, who doesn't drive the KJ offroad. (I but she'll appreciate the lift this winter when the snow plows bury the end of our driveway.) I'm hoping for a kit with red parts, but I told Quinn I'd take black if it can ship sooner.

Now I just need to schedule a trip up north to my brother's shop for the install. If his schedule's too busy, I'll host a lift party at my house one Saturday in November. (Does anybody else like Killian's Red with Papa John's pizza?) I hope to be lifted before the first snow -- hopefully before the long Thanksgiving weekend.

I also picked up a Mopar engine skid from my dealership (only 4 miles from home) this morning. For only $5 more than Jparts.com, I had the part in 24 hours. I'll try bolting it on during my lunch break today.

Grats!! I would also consider doing a clevis lift to give you about another .5 inch in front.

I also can't wait till I get my lift on my KJ ! I made some spacers for the frontend and then I'll get the coil spacers for the rear end .

Put mine on 2 weeks ago, broke it in at the Badlands.
I am very pleased with the 1.5/2.5 lift.

I did mine on the CRD in about 4 hours by my self, not including 2 hours for driving around looking for a shop with a spring compressor.

:evil: Couldn't get the skid plate on without a jack or a second pair of hands. Wasted my lunch hour, now I'm behind schedule at work. Grrrr.
I'll ask some of my neighbors if they have floor jack and stands I can borrow.

Jeff: I'll ask my brother about the clevis method. I don't want my front end sitting higher than the rear, like I see in a lot of 4x4s. I like it level or a little higher in the back. The guys in the CRD forum say that the KJ09123 gives 2" of lift all the way around even with that heavy diesel engine. I'm assuming that with less weight from my front end, I'll gain at least the same amount of lift as the CRD owners. On the other hand, I don't have CRD springs up front like they do, so maybe not. I'd prefer to just wait and see, and then fine-tune as needed down the road. I'll have the winter to tweak it out.

Does a clevis lift necessitate longer struts up front?

Almost 2" all the way around. I've talked it up in the CRD forum plenty as a good CRD lift that yields 2" in the rear (since you remove the rear lower spring pad) and about 1.75" in the front. With a gasser set of front springs you will probably only get 1.3 to 1.5 inches in the front after spring sag - you may want a rusty's top 3/8" strut spacer but that might put you back to level and not a little nose down..... Our CRD springs are VERY stiff.

Wait and see method is good if you want to wait for your struts to wear out. That's what I'm going to do. Long term, I may add the 3/8" spacer up top if my springs ever sag.....

Here is a photo of my Rusty strut next to the stock strut. As you can see, they have the same amount of space where the struct connects to the clevis.

You could add two to three nuts without any trouble. I can see what you are saying about waiting. I felt the same way till I started thinking about taking it all apart again. I am kind of lazy that way...

It's about time for us to get on the ball!! We need lifts!! Ah...I have fun in the stocker just the same! :)

Give it some time...I'll be lifted probably before new years.
