Looks like a nasty thunder-ice-snowstorm will be moving through the region. Parts if IL could get 6 to 12 inches of snow. Central and southern IN will get mainly rain. They're predicting 1 inch for Indianapolis. Big whoop. What's the weather like where you are?

Don't get cocky on the roads, folks. 4WD and ESP are nice but they can't do it all. There have been way too many L.O.S.T. members in accidents lately, so be extra careful. Have a safe Friday.

This message brought to you by the letters B and R, as in "Brrrrrrrrrr."

T.J.

HA! midwest winter... phooey.

i moved up here from texas expecting an outrageous winter to look forward to, but we only got 1 solid snow of 7" last year. pathetic.

hopefully, we'll get something heavy more than once this year!

Well we have a half day tomarrow...so if we get a 2 hour delay...more than likely they'll just cancel school all together. I'm hoping for this big time...and it could be a big possibility because it's raining here right now and it's supposed to get cold over night and begin snowing...if it doens't stick it will more than likely become ice!!

But I'm w/ Spowers on this one...LET IT SNOW!!!!! :P We haven't seen enough here in 2 years...in my opinion anyways.

Can't wait to drive the KJ in snow...in a controlled manner!!

A canceled day is worse then a regular day as it must be made up. Students must be in school through lunch for it to count as a full day.

So let us review... 1/2 day=good, 2 hour delay=good, school closed with a make up day in June=bad bad bad.

How did you like that wind on the drive in this morning? I felt like a little ping-pong ball coming up the west side of I-465. It was still warm out (50ish)

I hear ya FastTRX. My in-laws live in North Liverty, IN right by you and they have had very little snow for the past few years - same story down here as well.

 Public Enemy said it best: Don't believe the hype!

All I got was a little rain and a lot of wind. It's been blowing a steady 30 mph this morning.

I was really hoping for an excuse to use 4WD. :)

We got nailed real good up here. This little CRD is amazing in the snow. For all the complaints about the stock tires mine seemed to do pretty damned well today. I guess if I had better tires the Jeep would have done even better, but I was doing great driving through some 12"+ drifts with no problems. Had a little bit of understeer when turning into driveway and such, but that's pretty common in snow...

haha BRING IT ON!!!

Snowfall here is about 10" so far and still coming down heavy. Winds are whipping it up pretty good too...got about a 2' drift against patio door.
I just love 4-wheelin' it through the 2'+ at the end of driveway!
Wouldn't mind driving around on the roads if it weren't for all the idiots who don't know how to drive in this stuff.

I had some sleet bounce off my head at about 40mph.. Thats about it here though. We very rarely get anything that amounts to anything. I am usually happy with around 2".. :(

We had a fire alarm in our dorm today.. I went out to sit in my jeep since it was so cold and windy.. I must say Ive never been in my jeep when it moved around like it was.. I was slanted downhill some and had my front tires resting on a curb(Usually do not set parking brake if I can do this). Since the parking brake wasnt set, the wind actually pushed the jeep backwards(drivetrain slack) and then it would roll back down to the curb. You could watch all the cars in the parking lot shake.. I must say it was amazing..

I just got back from wheeling in 14" in Mideastern KS yesterday. I forgot my camera but some other guys took pics so I'll see if I can post them.
The Libby did great. I had no problem in drifts from 6" to 20". The Frankenlift/MTR combo was awesome. I aired down to about 12psi and went just walked through it all. I love my KJ more and more. And I got the wheels spinning for a solid front axle when it gets paid off.
