I didnt even think about that. I'm headed to Champaign IL Friday night so I was gonna spend the day in Attica and head over that night. I'll still plan on going if anyone that cant make Moab want to join me |

Callaway, I'd run Badlands with you if it was a Saturday or Sunday. Are you committed to 4/20 or could you go 4/21? T.J. |

Nope. The official club run that week is Moab |

The official club run that week is Moab I was also thinking that even if he was going along(exlcuding the Moab information all together), he would really have to be the organizer of the event - at least that's my interpretation. (Couple more months and I can stop web-wheeling and get back to real wheeling... |

Lets put it this way. A run can only be club sponsored if one of the board members or designated trail guides goes along. I have seen a lot of stories on this board about inexperienced 'wheelers taking a trip and doing not so safe stuff, and it reflects bad upon us. I wanna make sure if the club is endorsing the run, that someone that will take responsibility is along for the ride. That's not to say people shouldn't ask for company whenever they like, but I want to be clear about what runs are sanctioned, and what runs aren't. This run would be an unsanctioned run becuase none of the listed members are attending at this point. I have only listed members that I have personally 'wheeled with more than once, that I know 'wheel safely, can properly engineer a recovery and know how to properly spot another jeep on the trail. There may be others not on the list that have these skills, and may be added to the list later. Hopefully this will give newbies a sense of which run they should attend if they don't have much experience. |

Don, Does the board prefer non-sanctioned runs be organized in another forum, like "Trail Rides/Meetings"? That way we could assume that the events posted on the Midwest forum are all officially sanctioned. That might eliminate ambiguity in the future and save you from having to explain yourself again and again. Just a thought... I'm sure no one wants to step on toes or misrepresent L.O.S.T. Midwest. We're just a group a guys who for various reasons won't be attending Moab but still want some offroad time. I totally understand your position though. Safety first. T.J. |

the only problem i see with posting in that forum is that not everone checks it. posting in the midwest section that its a non sanctioned run is probly the best bet to get the most local intrest and still explains that its not sponcered by the club. I defintly agree safety first and properly representing the club should be prioity 1. |

Yah, I agree. Post em in here, just make sure it's known that it is not a club run. As a moderator, it's my job to label them as such if you forget, so no worries. |
