Saw this on Craigslist, if someone is looking for a small camper to trailer with the KJ...

Man I wish I had the $ for it. I've been looking at these for a few months now. A friend has one and they are sweet! He bought his stripped and customized the inside the way he wanted, cost him 3500.00 for just the shell. Come on lottery!!

They do seem pretty cool if your not into sleeping in a tent and the price for this one looks fair without seeing it in person...

For me, it just doesn't fit my needs right now.

I have always liked the teardrops for one reason, well several but, they are lightweight, easy to park somewhere out of the way at home, quick set etc. I have a 27 ft Motorhome, but unless you are taking friends/family and staying for a few days its not worth the hassle/ expense, my exwife loved to go camping and we traveled everywhere with the Cherokee in tow, but my current wife doesnt like camping so its just me going for a night or two every now and again, so need something small.
Well I contacted the guy will see what he says!!

Been on that site for over 3 years, also used to get the Trails and Tears newsletter, problem is need more room to work on one where I live right now. My big garage is 250 miles away along with my wood working tools!

I've been looking into building one myself, but I'm not good with a welder. If I found a frame one could go on, I think I could do the rest. We use to go camping alot, but the wife now works every weekend so it's usually just me, and they look alot more comfortable then a tent to me.

I have a frame already to go, its an older U haul 5X8, well built, I think it would work pretty well, just have to take a few days off and start.
I would rather sleep up in something than on the ground anymore for sure. Kind of like you 501 no use to spend a lot of money due to not using it all the time, but then maybe if it turned out nice ....

If I was able to build one, I'd paint it to match the Libby. I'd probably go with the wood exterior, just cause it would be easier. I.m trying to talk my Dad into making him one to go with his 1950 Willy's, then once we get his done talk him into making me one!

He likes challenging projects, right now he's building a log cabin from scratch. Cuts down the tree, debarks it, notches it with a ase, and the puts it into place. He's working on the rafters and loft now. (He's 69 yrs old). So once he gets the cabin done, I'll work on getting him to make one.
