| Post subject: | Maybe a Franky for sale... |
I may have a Frankenlift for sale, not for sure yet. I'm giving the KJ to the dealer to work on for next week while I'm on travel. If they don't have it fixed, I'd starting the paperwork for the Lemon Law. I just wanted to give the Midwest guys a chance to think about it for a week in case things once again don't go my way... I bought it used in the fall with only 6 weeks on it. Only off road a few times. Thinking of $500+shipping if it comes to this. (this also gives folks Moab bound a chance to put in a word...) |

What's wrong with the Jeep? Not sure if lemon laws are the same in every state but I guess this means you've had the same issue 3 times... |

well... when you pull up for a gentle stop (i.e., apply the breaks lightly) on dry pavement, you get the ABS kicking in. then, when you take off and turn hard to the right, the system will sometimes determine that you are out of control on the dry pavement and limit the RPMs from the 3000 you are at (remember, we are turning out onto a main street and trying not to be a hood ornament) to about 1000 for a few seconds. This makes everyone behind you very happy. No one has hit me yet, but Monday I almost became a hood ornament for the FedEx guy... I can't have a truck that might get my kids injured in some stupid accident. Oh, and when the ESP off button has the ESP in partial off, I haven't seen these issues. So this started in July, and they said it was normal operation. The engineers at camp jeep seemed to have a few ideas, but nothing they could tell me to do. Talking to the dealer for 4-5 months to get a regional tech rep to look at the car was fruitless, so I took the tech at the dealer for a 20 minute ride where it did both issues, but didn't register any faults on his computer. they had it again for a few days last week, but said the lift and the tires would need to go to determine that they were not the problem (also needed to be off if we Lemon Law it). So, today the 32's came off (may sell these, as the CJ uses 15's). Saturday Ed and I are un-lifting it (just cant say lower I really like the KJ, but I'm tired of this issue. I would almost consider a really upside down trade if the Lemon Law goes against me. |

I may be interested if I get a few things sold in a week or so... I'm getting rid of some stuff sitting around and if all goes well and the potential buyers hold their word...I may be interested in taking it off your hands. But we'll see how it goes. Keep me in mind though. Hope everything goes well w/ the lemon law process. Sad to hear you could be straying away from the KJ... |

i wouldn't think Ed would mind extra hands, but it's his shop. PM him if you want to come down. We're starting at 1000 and I'll buy pizza (or we can take the low rider over to Hooters) I'm back on stock tires with the franky, and it feels so low... |

Well, this is just a heads up so you can be in a position to get it if it works out that way. |

More help is always welcome. Send me a PM and I'll give you my address. Moose, does this mean that if by some miracle they fix the ESP problem we are going to be having a re-lift party. |

Moose, does this mean that if by some miracle they fix the ESP problem we are going to be having a re-lift party. With more pizza or a trip to hooters (or city bbq). although, spare ribs would smoke in about the time it takes to do the lift, so maybe we smoke some ribs for the relift. In fact, I could get some ribs today if you and May are interested for the lowering... |

I would almost consider a really upside down trade if the Lemon Law goes against me. I realize this is an older post, but I just got done talking to Moose. I'm having the EXACT same issues with my '06 KJ Sport. Had it 3 weeks and took it to the dealer and got pretty much the same no answer answers that Moose got. FWIW to anyone having similar issues, his was a stick and mine is an auto - so it can happen to either. I will probably be looking to take it back to the dealer next week - for good. Hopefully I won't take too bad a beating on it and trade it for a Wrangler. I'm trying to gather info on this issue, so PLEASE, anyone having this problem let me know so I can print out the posts and take them to the dealership to prove I'm not crazy. It could be an issue only for the '06 Libs and apparantly is related to the ESP but they won't fix anything that doesn't register a code or fault on their computer test. |

Forget that. This freakin' KJ is possesed. Just when I thought it was ok, now the ABS/ESP acts up about every third or fourth time I apply the brakes! It goes back to the stealership on Tuesday, and I'm taking along Moose's info from his dealership so they can contact them to verify this is not a one time issue. If they can't fix it - they better give me a full refund. I may have MOPAR front tow hooks, gas tank skid, and a Hidden Hitch FS soon. |

| Post subject: | Problem fixed |
Took mine in Tuesday for the second time for this problem. Guess what? Two weeks ago Chrysler found the problem and it got fixed by a PCM (Power Control Module) flash. Apparantly enough people complained about this mystery ABS/ESP gremlin that they looked into it more and found the problem in a control module. Got rid of the KJ anyway. Got a full refund and bought an '06 TJ Unlimited. Chrome grill cover and chrome side steps will be FS. I'll post on FS section when I can get pictures. If interested meanwhile PM me. http://strongsville-dodge.ebizautos.com ... 66894.html BTW - sorry but nothing for sale off the KJ - the dealer wanted it all as part of the deal. In return I ended up with a never used soft top for the TJ. I'm happy. |
