Any one ever done this trail or any part of it? its 67 miles long and from the map looks like it might be worth a trip.

Looks like alot of the route follows streams and rivers, probably quite a bit of mud. You never know though, its pretty mountainous up there (compared to Illinois). The map indicates its open to ORV's, but when I search the Michigan DNR web site the only site they show for non ATV's is the Silver lake site. Not sure if this trail is even still open to ORV's

Andy,
You got any new pictures of your rig? I haven't seen it since you did all the work.

Don't know, thats why I was asking if anyone has been there. :D An advisory on the map says the trail is two-way so there is no restriction on where you start.

Looks like East to West, its Iron River through Watersmeet to Marenisco. Watersmeet looks like about half way and there are no other towns between so I think if I go up blind, I'll start in Iron River just because its the biggest of the three and so I can check out the businesses in town and get some phone numbers.... just in case.

There's probably a DNR station somewhere near by, and I would want to stop in and have a chat.

Hay Bughout (and anyone else) you should come up to the U.P. in October when the Pro Rally (Was the SCCA Pro Rally now run by Rally America) is held. We make it a week-end. Running from stage to every other stage, watching the rally car go by. You get to see some great cars plus get some trail running at the same time.

Any question on trailer here in the UP, I'll try to help. I was born and still live in Marquette. Been running through out the UP since I got my lisense in 1977.

Sounds like a blast. They advertise it for a fall color run, but October seems a little late, usually hits Northern Wisconsin last two weeks in September.
