Well, I was interested in what this whole "sheltowee trace" thing was all about down in KY, so I did a little research. Some interesting info:

http://www.sheltoweetrace.com/
http://www.fs.fed.us/r8/boone/recreation/sheltowee.shtml

There are also plenty of maps on those sites. Too bad the whole trail isnt open to jeeps, because that would be an amazing trail!! I could see a whole expedition-style journey going on there for LOST.

260 MILES

IN like 4 hours or so we only covered something like 5 didn't we? Man.... If we go back we won't NEED to have a campsite to return to, when it gets dark that is campsite.

Who was at Livingston today?!

And yea, Ive hiked on sheltowee trace but it was over 1hour from livingston. It was a place called Slade which is also where I had my first run with the Mid-west group. It was also on the sheltowee trace trail but it was recently closed to vehicles. So that means Ive been on sheltowee trace in 3 different places.

Thats where I was on that trail at up around Slade, just have to hike it all now instead of 4 wheeling it, we can wheel in and hike the rest, get ready for a month or so off work!

no hiking is about expoloring nature at a slow pace, watching the wildlife, enjoying what there is out there with out the noise of an engine, ..................only sounds are birds and the rustling of the leaves and of course my labored breathing from being too darn out of shape any more   :-)r

I have already requested that in my next life I want to come back as a Red tailed Hawk. 8) Some of my favorite "alone times" have been spent hiking to a place much like the picture above, and visiting with some redtails, we can talk for hours   OR maybe I was a redtail in a previous life  :? :?
