I will be running my 3rd Chicago Marathon later this year and have decided to make it more meaningful by becomming a charity runner. I am raising funds for the Great Lakes Adaptive Sports Association. With your help we can offer substantial assistance to a local organization. GLASA believes it is possible to remove boundaries, elevate expectations, fulfill dreams, enhance self worth and empower self actualization of individuals with disabilities through participation in athletic competition and recreational activities. We believe that GLASA should actively support and encourage the integration of individuals with disabilities, and that these individuals should be encouraged to participate fully in both competitive and recreational sports. GLASA recognizes the importance of family and friends, therefore every effort will be made to provide programming which allows options for the disabled participant to include these individuals in his/her leisure pursuits. |
