Now that we have the Badlands Run behind us, and being that we failed to get together for a sit down while we were in Indiana, I want to set up a quick gathering for early in December before the holidays get in the way. We need to figure out club leadership and other pertinent stuff.
Sorry to leave out those of you far out from Chicago but in order to move forward the 8 or so of us here are going to organize a core leadership and then we will nail down chapter leadership in other areas such as Michigan, Ohio, Missouri and Wisconsin. Ideally each area will run independently of the others culminating in a yearly gathering similar to Moab but taking place somewhere like the Badlands. I doubt we can expect to gather in 2006 but I think 2007 is a definite goal to shoot for.
Being that Camp Jeep is going to be in Elkhart Lake, WI, I am almost positive all of us here are gonna attend. It's less than 150 miles from my house, so it may be a good opportunity for others to come up and meet the Chicago guys. $350 per jeep is a bargain for 3 days jeepin' and camping.
Back on topic, for those uf us here in Chicago, throw out some ideas of where to meet and what date. I want to get the date and place nailed down by Sunday the 27th of November. The 11th of December is out because I will be attending the GLJT Toys for Tots Run.
