We're Back.

We had a really great time! No one wanted to leave. We did a lot of wheelin', and everything from camping, partying, to trying to rescue a lost hunting dog on a National Forest highway.

Here's a few pics (for now). Jayme is going to post her shots on LOST as soon as she can. She took some cool & fun pic's.

Yeah I kept thinking what great time some of you missed. By the time we head up there next spring / summer I will be lifted & completely ready to go. We discussed that we're also going to wheel at MacCaslin Mountain ORP, which is said to be intense. Mind you, this is a OR park that borders the National Park to the south. And for those who don't like primitive camping, there is a big log built hotel / resort just down the highway from the area. Some of the people from the DDO club stayed there, and said it was really nice. But for those who like to camp, and have never been up there, the camp we stayed at (in the photo) the lake is just a few steps behind our tents. It's beautiful and really cool.

My next run will be for the Chicago Toys for Tots.

After procrastinating over wether to install a lift, I decided a lift with A-arms, rocker protection, wheels & tires are going to be my Christmas present to myself this year. So next year I'll be ready for most anything.

Speaking of procrastinating, I've repaired my exhaust y-pipe twice now (using muffler cement) and it's time to replace it. Which is why I didn't have my engine/tranny & transfer case skids on for this trip. I have a y-pipe coming in within a day or two, then I will do the initial install on those two skid plates.

As for not getting the black bear or timber wolf pictures I so desired, I'm thinking between Matt's XJ, and the Flowmaster 44OR on my KJ, we scared the wildlife away!

Great pics, Jayme & Jerry! :D
Dang, I wish we could've gone. But as it turns out - was a good thing we didn't. Had to take my Mom to the ER on Saturday :( She had some nasty digestive issues, but she's home and on the mend.

We may try to squeeze in one more trip somehwere next month - maybe Manistee, maybe upper WI - not sure yet.

I hope your mom is doing better.

Northern Wisconsin (especially the north woods) is so beautiful.

Looks like a great time. Hopefully next time I'll have a little more income and will be able to tag along!
