If you go with everyone here in July (17&18) it would cost you a fraction of the Jamboree price. I believe thats why there has not been a great deal of individuals interested.

Hope you have fun though and post some pics! :D

Nothing says I can't do both, right?

I just thought it'd be fun to attend an official Jeep function. I ran around Badlands with the Lost group in April and with a smaller Wrangler-only group last Sunday. The convenience of living so close to Badlands makes it pretty easy to attend almost any event there.

Well the 1st Badlands Jeep Jamboree was a blast! I've been wheeling out there all spring but this was definitely a lot more challenging than anything I've done alone or with various small groups. It's mosting Wranglers but there was a stock Liberty that did virtually everything the rest of the groups did... not unscathed, but they accomplished the trail and drove home with a few trail scars for memorabilia. For my own part, I learned a few things and spent far more on repairs than on the registration for the event itself.

One of the cool aspects was that the group I was with the second day didn't even stay in the park! Departing before the public gates opened, we went out a back exit and crossed into a private property area owned by the previous (?) owner of the Badlands park who graciously let JJUSA use the land. The park doesn't have trails like this and I'm sorry I don't know how to posty pictures or videos on this forum or I'd love to share them.

So in all it was well worth the price for the experience. I feel far more confident now knowing I've run with professionals and even they were impressed that my stock Wrangler did everything... once I stopped blowing tires on the trail! lol
