Thought I would finally post over here because it's getting close!

I am PCS'ing to Ft Leonard Wood July 1st, driving through ID, MT, then south after SD...

I will be in the middle of no where... BUT middle over everywhere is how I look at it! There are some cool wheeling spots I have seen under 3 hours from the base.

Looking forward to meeting some of you guys, the PNW area of LOST is pretty dead :(

Welcome, We've got a pretty active group out of the Chicago area as well as Ohio. Keep an eye on both of those groups as well.

You will be southwest of St. Louis. Close enough to LOST ECS, East Coast Safari this year. Being held in Kentucky I believe.

My brother is stationed there and my dad lives an hour and change away in Dora. I hope you don't get Lost in the Woods.

If you haven't checked out military jeepers you check them out, they have a active FLW group.

Yep, I posted on militaryjeepers once or twice. Seems like a good group!

I'll be there for just a year (doing school) then off to who knows where.

Yes LOST ECS is being held in KY this year. It is two hours from my place in KY. I'm probably the closest LOST Member to the ECS location. It takes so long to get out there because of the mountains... :? Would be cool to see you there @arengant
My buddy (who is KJ_WHEELER_2010 on LOST) is suppose to be taking his leave around ECS(and hopes to join everyone) He's over in Afghanistan right now and I miss him terribly... :( He was the closest member to me...(FT KNOX-AREA)...I'm in Somerset, KY. Probably never heard of the town...

Well, as of now I plan on getting in the Jeep and rolling out of here July 1st, a few variables involved, but I am excited it's getting close!

As of August 15th, I start my school, which will be pretty time intensive so I don't expect much free time, so wheelin might not happen till next spring... We will see!

Good luck with that. Hopefully, The Rockies won't swallow you up.

Too bad I missed you! I PCS'd out of FLW on July 23rd. I could have shown you some pretty cool spots!

There are a few places close to post you could hit up...I'm talking 15-minutes. (If you can find the Bussman Lodge ruins, there is an old two-track leading down there. I was able to take my stock 2010 Renegade down there) There is an old service road by the "Elbow Inn". If you take that to where there is an intersection with a dirt road that goes off into the woods to the right, before you get to the T-Intersection (which is gravel). Go down the one to the right, and stick to the left the whole way. You'll get to the bottom of the long hill, and there is an eroded out road that goes to the right. Take that down to the river. The bussman lodge is in the wooded area to the left. You should be able to see the two Stone Chimneys that are still standing.

There are also alot of places on post you can wheel at, but I'm sure you've found those areas already. I was able to take my Jeep through all the ones on post, with the exception of 1.

Here are just a couple places that are a little further:

Wow, thanks for the tips!

I have not found ANY on post, the normal inprocessing brief said don't even try to 4x4 on post, so I am a little nervous. Can you describe those on post?

I am stoked you know of ones close by, with my work/school/new baby schedule, I'll be lucky to get even to SMORR while I am here.

You can post more info on trails here, or PM

THANKS!!!!!!
