No special subdivision name or suburb names that I can think of. There are quite a few real nice homes right over by my house that recently went on the market, one right next door and one directly across the street. They are real nice houses, nice neighborhood, big park at the end of the street (six houses away from me), great area. Not sure what you budget is, but my house is one of the smallest on the street, and appraises around $190,000 right now. I haven't looked at the prices on the houses next door, but I would guess atleast $235-250. I can get you the MLS#'s if you want an idea what's over here. Prices are high here for real estate. My house is 2300 sq ft, two car, three bed, 2.5 bath, built in '93 if that gives you an idea. The newer developments I mentioned aren't hoods and don't have too bad of a crime rate. I forget the site, but before we moved out here two years ago, I checked a site that had crime stats, and the number of crimes were about the same as Pueblo, but Pueblo had twice the violent crimes of COS. It's not too bad around here.

well as far as budgets go...I am not a rich man  but we were looking to going up to a MAX of 300K but the wife wants to hopefully be at 250K. We are both Paramedics that work for AMR in Vegas and are in the process to get transfered up there.

They just built two new hospitals in this area, maybe three miles apart from eachother. I think with that budget you will do pretty good in the newer areas.

Oh, and check out www.realtor.com, which is a pretty good site for searching through housing.

I have very little to add that hasn't already been covered but if you do find yourself looking in the more southern part of town, you have to be very picky. I live about as far SE COS as you can go before getting into Security/Widefield and there are some great neighborhoods down here with the hood just 1 mile away  I tend to agree with everything everyone else has said, the northern part of town is the nicer part of town (you want to be at least north of Constitution and east of Academy). Don't take my word as law though, I haven't done the research in that part of town and I know everyone else has.
