Bill, Set the cruise control to just under the speed limit
Actually I drive about 62 on the highway because I am driving a 31' motorhome. It gets 8 MPG at that speed an I am sure it would be worse at 75 (the speed limit in New Mexico).
My present problem is my hands. They have been "asleep" ever since I got our of the hospital in February. Physical therapy didn't help and now the Ortodpedic doctor says it may be like Carper Tunnel Syndrome since they had my hads tied to the bed rails for about 8 days to restrain me. Apparently I kept trying to pull the breathing tube out of my mouth and was kicking the end of the hospital bed pretty hard. I don't remember any of it since they had me on morphine for that time. I don't know how anyone could take morphine "for fun", that was one of the worst experiences I have ever had.
Did I mention my hernia on my chest? I'll skip that story for now and just keep a big stretchy thing around my chest while offroading to contain that.
Update on plans: We (my 14 year old grandson and I) will leave on July 19 and will take 4 days to get there. I want to spend 2 nights in Chama, New Mexico and take him on the train ride from Antonito, CO to Chama, NM
http://www.cumbrestoltec.com/ It is a great trip and will probably be the only time in his life he will get to ride on an 1880's train pulled by a steam engine.
