Awesome... Who's LOST? LMAO. So, who's all going on this ride then? Me, Denise and Darryl are in for sure with both his Liberty and my Patriot. Anyone got an extra CB we could lend to Darryl? (Marty maybe)

Can't wait. Had the Patriot into the shop today. They re-flashed both computers which is supposed to fix my power problem.

I don't have any extra CB's. He can get brand new stuff for about $60. WalMart has a good little 40 channel Midland that works good, and at most auto parts places like Autozone, you can get a magnet mount antenna for about $15. Both of those together work good enough for the trails. In fact, I used to have that exact setup in my last XJ, and it worked a heck of a lot better than the fancier expensive setup I have now.

OK, as for meet time, please, NO EARLIER than 3PM. Troy and I will be working all morning, and will want a short break for lunch and to clean up before everyone shows up here. There really isn't much to do here, so no sense standing around for several hours waiting on us, because we won't have room for an audience, and personally prefer not having one. We'll leave here at 3:30 PM, get to the trail before 5PM, be done between 6 and 7PM depending how long we chat on the trail. Be sure to bring come camping/fold up chairs and mosquito spray.

See you guys Saturday.

Troy said nightrun, I said evening run. I have kids that need to go to bed at a decent hour, and we have church Sunday morning, and I'm sure Rhett and Sarah would prefer to see the trail, not feel it. Being a passenger on a night run isn't the most fun.

First to KW AV8TR I may be single but in all my years the old saying still rings very true "WHEN MAMA AIN'T HAPPY! NOBODIES HAPPY" And to you and all you guys serving ourt country THANK-YOU. Now to answer other question asked I'm probably the old man in the group 51 years young. And yes can we say Viet Nam but thats old history you guys are our future and you have my heart felt support and prayers. This also probably explaines why I'm doing the grocery store gig. Paid Health insurance ,vision dental above and beyond VA bennys means a lot to an old fart like me in fact last year this insurance paid for Stomach BY-Pass surgery the VA wont pay that considered cosmetic surgery. Any way at one point and time in 2005 I weighed 360 + lb.s (can you say Jabba the Hut) any way a year after the surgery I'm proudly tipping the scales at 225 lbs.. Not to mention while carrying that extra weight I trashed my spine 2 compressed and bulging disc's and 1 degenerated disc. This should also explain why the lucrative construction job doesn't show a whole lot of promise. I am currently looking into Web design I have already created a set of pages the I did for one of the local Colorado Paint Company's but with the last winter's blizzard every 6 days for almost 8 straight weeks I have been put on an extended hiatus till they recover finanacially to pay my to create more web pages
to look at some of my handy work go to : http://www.coloradopaint.com/?page=graco
These pages I did with no formal computer education just what I taught myself. If I can pull this gig down a little better yes you will be seeing this old man on the trails with the rest of you but till then I just have to struggle along with the grocery store gig.

Well, Rush, thanks for your service as well, and as for the grocery job, at least you have the right SUV to be a grocery getter in the parking lot where it belongs :!:

Nice Rush,
My dad is in sorta the same situation... Vietnam Vet. and retired firefighter; but he and my mom are still working to make ends meet and live more comfortably. I bet we can all expect to work till we die. Don't think there'll be such a thing as retirement for the average person ever again. But I digress.

Very nice work on the web page. Do you do your own graphic design too? How do you do layout, HTML or a program? My brother does design too and works for a graphic design company in Chicago. His company on the side is called Vaieel: http://www.vaieel.com. I've dabbled in HTML from time to time too. So, maybe you'd be interested in helping out the LOST Rockies with their web page? In reading previous posts, it sounds like he who is managing it now has been swamped with other work. Perhaps you could lend a hand and the two of you could restore its former glory?!?! I wouldn't mind editing and adding content as well.

YAY, 33.75 hours until the run! Can't wait.

Darryl and I will be leaving Aurora around 1:30. We'll be making a stop at Jimmy Johns sandwiches on the way, and then proceeding to Marty's. If anyone else is going from Denver/Aurora area and wants to caravan down, repost here before 1 for a meeting place!!! We should be at Marty's around 3 as requested.

6 hours!

How did the run go? Did you get hammered by the storm we got here? Flash Flood warnings here in Aurora.

 Post subject: Trail Pics
PostPosted: Sun Jul 22, 2007 12:59 pm
Hey Guys & Gals,

Denise and I really had a great time on the trail. It was scenic and at a couple points, challenging. It's cool that it did turn into a night run and that we didn't really get rained on.

We took 117 pictures, including 2 videos, with our POS camera. Unfortunately, since it is a POS, more than half were out of focus. So, I'm going to let you decide which ones you want by making each of you a CD of the photos and mailing them to you. Don't get me wrong, there are some good ones in there, but I'll let you decide. So, if everyone could PM me their address, I'll get those out ASAP. I will also post some of the highlight pictures that were good on the forum for others to drool over.

On that note, Washington Mutual made the mistake of increasing my credit card limit this past week, SO, I'm ordering a NEW camera today. Probably get a Canon PowerShot 750 or something of that grade.

I hope we changed some opinions of the Patriot on that trail (even though it has been through worse). When it comes down to it, the Trail Rated Patriot has the same ground clearance as the stock Liberty (9"). The Trail Rated Liberty gives another 1" for 10" total, but they're pretty matched in off-road capability. I have no doubt that when I get the 2" lift and rails on it, the Patriot will go just about anywhere Ted and Troy's Liberty's will. Time will tell.

So, when and where is the next run?!?!?!?! Maybe we should go for a big turnout and start getting people's schedules to see what works. Keep in mind Rush, who works weekends.

Here's just a few pics guys... I picked one from each vehicle. Like I said, most came out blurry... And, it's a pain in the booty to upload them to photobucket, anyone know a better site?
