| Post subject: | LBJ Recall - FYI for the front range guys |
I had my LBJs replaced at Lithia Chrysler Jeep on Arapahoe (south of Denver) yesterday. I had not received my notice in the mail, but they didn't ask any questions about that or my lift. They simply did the work in a timely fashion and got my rig back to me as quickly as possible. It was probably one of the better dealership experiences I have had. I only post this because I see a lot of other folks being denied service because their year hasn't come up yet (DC is notifying people starting with the 02s and working up to the 06s). Anyway, if you want to get your recall work done now then Lithia would be a good choice. |

WOW, that is surprising especially from any Lithia owned dealer!!!! The one down here is crap! I have sent a message to get them to reimburse me for my Moogs, no word back yet, but I will post when I do hear something. Thanks for the info Joel! |

I hear that about the C. Springs location repeatedly. The management must be better in the Denver area. They sell lifts in their service department and have never even hinted at warranty issues regarding my lift. Great folks up here. Ted, if you want to get reimbursed there is a blurb about how to correctly do that on the NHTSA website. I don't remember where, but it was under the latest recall and contained in one of the letters from DC I believe. Ah, here... “DCC has a longstanding policy and practice of reimbursing owners who have incurred the cost of repairing a problem that subsequently becomes the subject of a field action. To ensure consistency, DCC, as part of the owner letter, will request that customers send original receipt and / or other adequate proof of payment to the company for confirmation of the expense.” Bottom of page 2 in this document...http://199.79.180.163/prepos/files/Artemis/Public/Recalls/2006/V/RCDNN-06V288-1993.pdf Just take that to the dealer with you along with your receipts and you should be good.?.? Maybe call DC customer care and ask them to be sure. This might be something you don't even need to go to the dealer with. |

Bought my KJ at Lithia Ft Collins and use Lithia on Havanna here in Aurora. Never had an issue yet. I have only had it in for alignment, oil changes, and a tuneup though. |
