I took my KJ out wheeling today for the first time and ran into a interesting problem. I was on a dirt road and thought it would be a good time to try out four wheel drive. I got it into 4 high and when I tried to get 4 low the cable broke leaving me stuck in neutral. I had to crawl under there and put it into drive by hand. With only 700 miles on it and the first time using 4 wheel drive I am very mad. Has anyone had problems with this before? |

Were you stopped with the transmission in neutral? Just to be totally clear...there is no "shift on the fly" when it comes to 4-low. It is only to be used at very low speeds and you have to be nearly stopped to engage it. I've never heard of this happening and I'd guess its just a fluke thing if you were trying to engage 4-low properly. The dealer should warranty this though...I guess that's the good news! |
