My wife and I are planning a trip to Colorado meeting some friends who live in Ridgway CO. We will be there Nov. 21 and 22.

These friends have a Wrangler but have not done any Jeeping. Does anyone have some suggestions on 4WD trails that would be good at that time of the year. I have limited experience with my Liberty and they have none so want to limit our risk on this trip.

I have done Ophir Pass years ago but expect that it will be closed due to snow by then.

Would like some suggestions.

Thanks

You can find information on what trails are open at http://bushducks.com/tripreps/passopen.htm but watch the dates on the posts there. The information may be from when the trail opened not when it closed this year.

According to http://www.soajeep.com/home.html there was a pretty good snow on Oct 8 & 9 and all trails in the Ouray area are closed.

By Nov. 21 I suspect there won't be much open.

Check http://www.colorado4x4.org/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=12 for messages about runs in Colorado. You can also ask questions there.

Thanks for the info. We will probably just end up driving around. May start up some trails and turn around when we have too.

Looks like some good sites. Will keep these in mind. I am sure we will go again next year at a more appropriate time.
