I will be working at NIST, if Boulder is that expensive how about the surrounding suburbs? I'm looking for a 1bdrm apartment.

Oh ok...I believe that NIST is on the S side of Boulder just off highway 93 if I am correct. That opens up a lot of possibilities as you will be closer to Westminister and Arvada if you don't mind a 15-20 minute drive. I work in Golden for the USGS which is just about 15 down 93 from NIST.
