I was wondering if anyone is up for planning some runs that allow us to camp? I would love to go up, camp out, and then take a different route out type thing. This would obviously be taking place in the summer, but I figured I would post it up now. Anyone? Joe |

I love the idea of doing an expedition type excursion. I would be cool to pick a town somewhere on the western slope and see if we can get to it without ever hitting a paved road, camp where ever we end up, really test out the trail cookbook, and really refine the packing list and load plan. That would be a weekend I would definately sign up for. |

That sounds awesome.....yeah i was thinking town to town type thing as well. I have been going through my hiking maps and there appears to be some good stuff up in the vail/holy cross area. Could we do a 285 to 70 one that say is less traveled? Joe |

I have always thought of doing something like Mt Antero and some of the other trails in the area. There is a nice loop that could be done in the area and trails of varying difficulty. Did some research on the area awhile back but can't remember off the top of my head what the other trails in the loop were. Other trails in the area include Boulder Mountain and Tincup I think. Iron Chest is also nearby. John ];') |

I would definetly be in... What about Ourray? Not the same, but it would be a good chance to go camp and we could scout it out to see if the run we have been talking about is even viable. |

In 1976 I did a trip in a CJ that kept me mainly on all Jeep trails and was a blast. Started out on Boreas Pass from Como to Breckenridge. Then did Mosquito Pass from Alma to Leadville. Then Haggerman Pass from Leadville to Basalt. Next day did Schofield Pass from Marble to Gunnison. Then went to the Alpine tunnel and then took Hancock Pass over to St Elmo. I would be interested in a Camping trip if my work schedule allows. I even have one of the Jeep Liberty tents that attaches to the tailgate!! http://www.jeepworld.com/accessories/liberty/tent.htm I am taking the Liberty to Las Vegas tomorrow. I want to see how it does on the highway and may stop in Moab on the way back!! I found an interesting way to solve my cup holder problem today: http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/vie ... hp?t=19170 I will give you a report when I get back. I hope to make a couple of trips with the group again this summer! |

This is great...glad to see some many people interested. I think we should post up some ideas for trails. I also think a lot of the trails should be easy for stockers to come along.. Joe |

I'd be in. I have full skids but no lift so I'd be interested in the easier trails. |

Other than Iron Chest; most of the trails I named are 3-4 or less which means many of them would be stocker friendly. Check out the other trails nearby when you check out the Mt Antero link on TrailDamage. John ];') |
