So my buddy and went down to wally rd off Perry Park BLVD. While driving in we came across some horses so we pulled off, shut the Jeeps off, and got out. The people on horse back asked us if we were lost and and told us to leave because wally rd is VERY private and we shouldnt have even turned onto it. We apologized and left. On the way home we contacted the Castle rock PD non emergency # and they said it wasnt listed as private or public. Anyone know? Joe |

Never heard that...you'd think they'd have some signs up if that were the case. Probably just some over-zealous land owners that were scared you would tear up some stuff with the Jeeps. |

Well that was the thing....when you first enter the road there is a private land sign, but its on a fence post and the land is closed off with Barbed wire. The road however has street signs from the county. Joe |

Yeah, that's confusing. They need a "Private Drive" sign or a gate if the road is off limits. BTW, that road does end up in the back side of Bear Dance Golf Club so I guess its possible. |

It's a undeveloped connection road, that's why it isn't listed. Wally just connects 105 to Frontage Road (parallel to I-25) and also to Larkspur. It may be private, but it's unlikely since all property around it IS marked "private: no tresspassing". I wouldn't worry, and if you see those horse people, ask them the name of who owns it, and what exactly it is that they own. The multiple "private property" signs directly on fences are definitely referring not to the road, but to the property surrounded by that fence. That said, if you go off-course around the area, I'm sure you'll stumble upon unmarked private property. Either way, it was truely respectful to turn off your vehicles to let the horses pass, so they can't complain too much! I think they're full of BS; I've seen people on horseback back there, but they never said a thing like that. I just do what you did, until they are about 100 ft behind the Lib, then I start 'er back up and continue on my way. |

Yeah......I used to ride horses so I did what I always wanted people to do for me. The signs mark all the property and i would stay on the road only.....the mud pits are fun... Joe |
