OK, it's time to get this year started. We'll do something easy so we can get a bigger attendance for this years first official meeting. Saturday, May 19, 9:00 am. Any thoughts on a trail? Most of the higher elevation stuff is still snowed in, so probably something under 9,000 ft. China Wall is a good little trail, but a little bit of a tough drive for the Castle Rock crew. The trail we just did this weekend in Castle Rock was a great warm up trail, no skids/sliders really required, but tow points are a real good idea as we found out with the quick turn in weather. But some of the guys have done that trail a couple times real recently, so they may be burned out. Anyone think of anything else?

how about:
MT Herman road, #57 in the book on page 209. Says it is an easy trail that is lower in elevation so it could be run early. Also has a lot of side trails to explore if we want to include a few moderates and Powerline RD that is a hardcore trail  .

Yep, just west of monument north of AF Academy, book says there is a great view of it from the trail.

Sorry Durango, most of us are between Colorado Springs and Boulder.

I will not be able to make it as I will be deployed to the National Training Center at Fort Irwin, CA. I should be back sometime around the middle of June (just in time for Jen to deliver our baby boy). I think I may have one or two runs in my future for this year before I head off to Iraq in the late summer/early fall.

It's been awhile since I chimed in, but it is that time of year again.
I should be able to make it, but that will largely depend on the departure time, weather, and location. I'll stay posted and let you all know if I'll be there.

For NTC it will be just a month but Iraq will be approx. 15 months. I'll be a pilot-in-command (PC) for both deployments flying a Kiowa Warrior (hence KW). As far as where in Iraq I'll be, we don't know yet though there are a few rumors. The exact date of our deployment is still up in the air but the latest rumors are sometime between mid-August and mid-December. I guess we'll see when we see.

Don't you love the guessing game....
I at least know where I am going, but I do not know the when or who will be on the team. They are worried about getting the next one out before they focus too much on mine in the winter...So all I know is I will be leading a team of 13 to the sandbox sometime to miss the snow and Unit Compliance Inspection  And the bad part.... No MOAB

I won't be able to make this run...or probably Junes either. I am preparing to sell my house and that is taking up tons of time lately. The good news is, by the time I am able to make a run I hope to have front and rear ARB's, Als A-arms (supply dependant), MOOGS (installed), fresh CV boots (installed) and JKS disconnects (installed). Basically I'll be as capable (vehical-wise) as Ted - minus the RL bumpers...and the body damage
