I'm going to be moving to CO Springs shortly. I should be in town by the first week of June. I'm currently scouting out some temporary housing (~3 months) as a place to stay as we look for a house to purchase. I was wondering if someone could give an idea of what neighborhoods to avoid and what are the nice areas. |

Awesome. Losing one later, gaining one sooner. You getting stationed at Academy, Peterson, or Schriever? |

Based on where you're going to be stationed, I would say to look for something in the Stetson Hills or Falcon area. Neither are very far from work for you and are very respectable areas. As far as places to avoid that would be close to work, I would avoid from Peterson AFB north to Constitution between Powers and Marksheffel. That area is run down and tends to draw lower income families. Hope this helps. |

That's about 10 miles east of Peterson. Middle of nowhere. Nothing but open fields and country roads. Housing is working its way out that way though. |

wherever you are at stay away from south academy I lived at Southpointe apartments for awhile I decided to move when I saw a guy get shot in the parking lot. Other than that the Springs is great I miss it from time to time. Very nostalgic downtown area (check out Pikes Perk), the colleges are pretty cool to hang around, and Manitou is always good to go to on the weekends. Much hiking and biking there too. |
