Remember when I said I thought the Jeep was handling funny when we got back on the pavement last weekend? Well, it was. Apparently I managed to blow out a shock sometime during our run.

Called up All J's and ordered a pair of Ranchos. I can't wait until they get here because the Jeep feels almost unsafe with one shock out and the rear sway bar off.

That's what the national news would lead you to believe. The roads never got more than wet around here. You had to be up in the mountains to really get snowed in.

Shocks go in the rear. Struts go in the front. :D

If you need one, I got extras, the Rustys shocks. If yours is unsafe to drive, we could throw that on until you get your replacement.

If it makes you feel anybetter, at least you didn't blow a hub bearing as I did :?

Ted, thanks for the offer. I'll just leave it in the garage until I get the new shocks. My wife and I carpool to work everyday so its no big deal.

How much does a hub bearing run you (and how did you know it went out)?

I'm hoping for lots and lots of the white stuff this winter.

well, I dunno for certain yet. Mine is growling real loud at high speeds on the left front, no change when turning. But I have not jacked it up to see if it wobbles yet, that is the best way to check if it wobbles back and forth a lot, then it is bad, like checking bearings (basically that is what goes bad in the hub.)

Main reason the growling makes me wonder is that is what Tricia's car did when hers went bad., but the growl could also be just the tire being loud due to lugs being worn weird too.

As for price,
Autozone 192.88 (non ABS) 194.88 (ABS)
Faricy Boys 340.00 (non ABS)

No core charge on either
