I was on my way to the airport yesterday morning. I was going to FL to spend time with the family. The shuttle driver was driving way too fast in the snow and crashed into some punks that were also driving too fast. My right elbow is shattered and will require surgery.
the doc gave me permission to travel and I made the last flight outta slc.
I will probably have my surgery here in FL because I have no one in UT.
the shuttle company is being real crappy.

Sorry to hear about the accident, make sure you have the shuttle company pay all the bills.I'm sure a lawyer could make it more worth your while, all the pain and suffering, lost time and such(hey more $$$ for the KJ  )

Hope all goes well with the surgury,at least you won't have a military doctor doing it.

Ouch! I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you get it all resolved soon.

It doesn't suprise me too that it happened, though, it's so wet and cold here right now. Lots of ice and slush on the roads.

I was so impressed with Ted's cast I went and got one myself.

Just before the accident, the dispatcher called the driver to get an ETA. The driver told me that they had 541 reservations and the snow had them behind.
I feel both drivers are at fault as well as the shuttle company for pressuring the drivers. The doc said my elbow will never be the same. That sucks because I am a righty and single.

Huh, I've been flying out of the local airport just about everyday for the past 3 months and I haven't had any weather or shuttle related problems. What shuttle company are you using? Should I consider myself lucky or have I been using a different shuttle company? Come to think of it, I haven't seen any snow or slush on the roads either. I wonder what the difference is.

I live in UT not CO so the weather can be different as well as the shuttle company. Among the vehicles we passed on the way were the plows.

I do not think the commute to the local Iraqi airfield is the same as we have had here Pete...

BTW did you get Achmed in my e-mail?

The word from my doc here in Ft Lauderdale is: "If it were my elbow, I wouldn't get the surgery". He suggested wearing the cast for 3 weeks then start the long and painful physical therapy.
Looks like it will not impact my wheeling career and I will be able to attend CES next week.

Being as my self is attempting Social Security disability 2 compressed and bulging Disc's and 2 degenerated disc's L3.4 & 5. On most days I require a cane to walk on days of barimetric pressure fluxuation I'm bed ridden. I currently take Pecocet with a muscle relaxer every 6 hours and an additonal 45mg of morphine every 12 hour just so I can walk around. A new chapter of L.O.S.T walking wounded could actually fill a nitch more then just myself would be ready to join and share another comrodery then just our love of JEEPs and vehicles and how we can abuse them in general. I say abuse for we like to ride them hard as one indiviual said if your not breaking anything on you Jeep you not using it right. I propose an New sub-chapter L.O.S.T Walking Wounded.    8)
