Hey everyone, I wanted to touch base. I feel like I’ve been absent from the forum for a long time. Grad school is kicking me in the arse this summer session. If I survive, my last class will end July 31. I’m literally drowning in homework at the moment. However, “hope” is what keeps me afloat and I’m “hoping” you guys are planning a trail run sometime in August or September. Sarah and I will be ride-a-longs again, if that isn’t too much of a problem. I need to have my lift, a-arms, and skids installed sometime. Marty has had my lift I think for 4 months now! My busy schedule and Marty’s busy schedule seem to make it impossible. Anyway, I hope we can organize a good trail run with as many people as possible. It will be different this year with Ted and Pete being absent. Anyway, put you thoughts and ideas into this thread if you want to make a trail run. Hope to see you guys soon!

Rhett! You know you can come up anytime and we'll take ya out. Denise and I have 'stuff' every weekend through the first weekend of August, but then we're pretty much open any weekend the rest of August and September. We've hopefully got some friends coming out from MI the week of Labor Day when we'll be touring the State. If they don't make it out (times are tight in MI), we'll be making a trip somewhere. The original plan was northern Cali, but that's all charred now so, perhaps Yellowstone. Anyway, just let us know when you've got time to come up and we'll put something together - maybe an over-nighter?!?!

Ironically, we were just up in your neck of the woods. We pulled the camper to Rocky Mountain National Park and stayed at the Moraine campground for a week. We hit most of the hiking trails in that area, although Longs Peak was still snow covered and we didn’t bring the gators, crampons, or ice ax. We did hike through some serious snow fields. I can’t believe how much snow is still up there for this time of year. As a matter of fact, we saw people skiing and snowboarding on parts. And yes, this was last week!

More than anything, I need to get this lift on! So we’ll see what happens!

I'll be gone for nearly 3 weeks and then my final Drill weekend with the Guard the last weekend before Labor Day weekend. I am camping this coming weekend and could head out for a trail from there. Since I have a pulled Hammy, mountain biking is out while I am camping.
