scheduled for the saturday after thanksgiving - 26 nov 05

we plan on running moffat road as far as possible. in the past 3 years we have yet to make it all the way to yankee doodle lake, but that is the goal. if it was too easy, we could always run jenny creek, since it runs parallel with moffat road

so far we have an xj on 37s, a yj on 35s, a tj on 33s and my libby on 245s and a couple possibles. last year they were a little surprised by the libby's snow prowess. would be fun to have a few more. expect a full day of playing in the snow. dress warm and pack a lunch/hot chocolate/soup.

meeting time/spot is the rollinsville store at 9:30 am (rollinsville is on 119 between nederland and blackhawk). we usually meet up in longmont before that since most of us live around here so you are welcome to join us here and caravan up to rollinsville. we usually use cb channel 14 and anyone planning on going can pm me for my cell # and directions.

hope to see some libbys this year and looking forward to meeting a few of the lost rockies members

Sorry, Couldn't make it or contact you in time. I had to go see the doctor and he said to stay indoors and gave me meds. Hard to breath w/o coughing up a lung. I was all ready to go yesterday morning. I put my MTR's on and had my lunch baggied up in the fridge yesterday.

Having an elementary teacher as a gf is tough. I rarely get sick (maybe once per year) and now I have had some type of sickness three times since we met.

thats ok, i understand how it can be, my wife used to work with kids alot too.

we didnt make it too far anyways. there was a pretty long snow bluff near the beginning of the run and we just couldnt break through it. we made progress but as soon as we got close to breaking through, the weather moved in and things got snowy and dark. it may be better to try later in the winter when everthing is a bit more powdery. the hard crust was breaking through and then you would just sink in the sugary stuff. even the xj on 37s didnt kae much progress.

maybe next time
