My differentials are due for service and I noticed the rear appears to have a slight leak. So I'm opting to have the gasket replaced along with the fluids. I might throw in transfer case fluid change too since it is going to be due in about 10k miles.

Can anyone recommend a good shop in Aurora, perhaps even Greenwood Village or Centennial areas since I spend a good amount of time commuting between those areas?

I use the Firestone shop at Arapahoe Rd and Yosemite for most of the misc work I have done...never had any problems and I think their prices are fair. However, it probably doesn't matter which shop you use unless you are actually going to have gear work done (then I definitely have a suggestion, but its northwest of Denver).

Fluid changes on the front diff and transfer case take about 5 minutes tops...unscrew the fill and drain plugs, let drain, install drain plug, fill, install fill plug...done. Don't let anybody make you pay for a transfer case "service"...all they do is drain and refill (and charge you $100).

The rear diff can be a little bit more time consuming because there is no drain. Typically you'll find RTV sealant rather than a gasket back there. The worst part of the job is removing the old sealant from the diff cover, but honestly shouldn't take more than a half hour. Take it to any Firestone shop and I think they charge right around $90 for the rear diff including fluid.

Also, if there is a particular fluid you like (Amsoil and Mobil 1 are good choices) make sure you take it with you to the shop. If you aren't picky then don't worry about it...they will use fluids that meet the Jeep specs. Be sure to tell them if you have a limited slip differential as they will need to use an additive.

Do it yourself....if you have a two car garage. Other than that, I have no experience with any in the area except for having Firestone do my alignment. I am lucky enough to be able to drive down to the Academy or Peterson AFB and use the Auto Hobby to do work like that. Put it on a lift and no lying on the ground.
